Rhode Island News reports the captain of the New Bedford fishing vessel Atlantic Prince radioed the Coast Guard on the night of March 15 that a 26-year-old crewmember suffered an eye injury and required immediate medical attention. At the time of the injury, the fishing vessel was about 50 miles south of Block Island.
The U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew airlifted the fisherman to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where he was reported to be in stable condition.
