WAVY.com reports the Coast Guard medevaced a passenger off the Carnival Pride cruise ship in the Chesapeake Bay Monday to Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a call at approximately 10:20 p.m. January 16, 2011 from the Carnival Pride stating a 68 year old passenger needed to be medevaced. A rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Little Creek was dispatched and arrived on scene at approximately 1:20 a.m. The man was transferred from the cruise ship to the boat crew and transported to awaiting EMS. There is no word on the passenger’s condition.
