The cruise injury attorneys of BBR have been retained by a Louisiana woman who was injured in a trip and fall accident aboard the Carnival cruise ship Elation. The passenger’s foot became stuck in a poorly lit and maintained stairwell between the Lido and Serenity Decks causing her to fall while the ship was returning to New Orleans. Unfortunately, the fall resulted in a fracture to the passenger’s tailbone (Coccyx). Such injuries are extremely painful. Cruise lines such as Carnival owe their passengers the duty of reasonable care for their safety. The legal duty requires that stair ways be properly maintained and lit so to lessen the likelihood of passengers tripping and sustaining injuries.
