    Crew Member Injury Our client worked as a Jones Act Seaman (“crewmember”) aboard a workboat in the Caribbean. As a part of his duties, he was required to change out light bulbs and broken fixtures mounted 15' above a deck. No hoist or lift was provided by his employer, necessitating that he use a ladder and lean out to reach the fixture. No helper was provided to assist. Our client fell resulting in a fractured tibia-fibula, multiple surgeries and RSD. The ship-owner (U.S. Government) & employer paid $1,290,000.00 to avoid going to trial.

    tibia and fibula fracture Our client was a passenger aboard a Jet Ski (PWC) rented by one of her friends when another PWC rented from the same company T-boned the PWC she was riding. The collision caused our client to suffer a severe displaced tibia and fibula fracture before ejected her into the water. She underwent an emergency open reduction internal fixation surgery wherein a titanium rod was implanted and secured to the bone with surgical screws and nails. This case was tried to a Miami-Dade County Jury who awarded our client a $1,180,000 verdict.
