Carra Miller is a nationally recognized admiralty and maritime attorney whose practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, cruise ship litigation, Jones Act claims, offshore accidents, marine bad-faith insurance disputes, and complex maritime litigation. She represents passengers, seamen, longshore workers, offshore employees, recreational boaters, and families in high-stakes cases throughout the United States.
Known for combining sophisticated maritime knowledge with practical courtroom experience, Carra has become one of the country’s emerging leaders in maritime law. In addition to trying and litigating complex cases, she is widely recognized as a scholar, educator, author, and bar leader whose work helps shape the development of maritime law nationwide.
Carra earned her Juris Doctor and Maritime Law Certificate from Tulane University Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Administration and a minor in Economics.
Whether representing victims of cruise ship negligence, offshore accidents, commercial vessel casualties, or catastrophic maritime injuries, Carra is committed to providing exceptional advocacy and compassionate representation while pursuing the best possible outcome for every client.
Carra is one of a small number of attorneys nationwide who has simultaneously distinguished herself as a practicing maritime litigator, professor, legal author, and leader of major professional organizations.
She has taught several maritime law courses at Texas A&M University, authored nationally recognized legal scholarship, spoken before leading maritime organizations across the country, and held leadership positions within the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, and numerous regional and specialty bar associations.
Her scholarship has been published by many of the nation’s leading admiralty organizations, including the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Law Journal, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, and the University of Texas School of Law Continuing Legal Education program.
