Sign On San Diego reports a 68-year-old passenger was medevaced from Holland American Line’s cruise ship Rotterdam to shore for medical treatment early on March 5, 2011.

The cruise ship Rotterdam notified San Diego harbor officials that a passenger was complaining of chest pains and in need of immediate assistance. The Rotterdam was approximately 140 miles south of San Diego when the emergency occurred. The Coast Guard reported the passenger was flown via rescue helicopter to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.
