Mercury New reports that shortly after 2 p.m. on January 3, 2010 the Crystal Cruise Line ship Crystal Symphony radioed the Coast Guard that a crew member suffered an eye injury and needed medical assistance. The Coast dispatched a helicopter from San Diego and an HC-130 Hercules airplane from Sacramento to the cruise ship which was approximately 250 miles southwest of San Diego. The crew member was flown to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla for treatment.
