The Gloucester Times reports a fishermen aboard the Gloucester-based fishing boat Grace Marie was airlifted by Coast Guard rescue helicopter after being seriously injured.

The Coast Guard reports, the fishing vessel was 10 miles north of Provincetown on December 30, 2010 when Coast Guard Sector Boston watchstanders received a call from the Grace Marie captain that a 52 year old crewmember had sustained an arm injury.

A HH-60 rescue helicopter crew, a 47′ motor lifeboat crew from Station Provincetown, and the 87′ patrol boat Tiger Shark launched immediately to aid the injured man. A boarding team from the Tiger Shark stabilized the fisherman and transferred him to the 47′ motor lifeboat to be hoisted by the helicopter crew at midnight.

The crewmember was transported by the helicopter crew to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. His condition could not be ascertained. This is the second incident aboard the Grace Marie within six months.
