Cape Cod Today reports an aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod medically evacuated a fisherman from the vessel Sammy Jo 70-miles east of Gloucester, Massachusetts on January 5, 2010.
Coast Guard Sector Boston received a call from the Sammy Jo stating that a 55-year-old male crewmember aboard had sustained a head injury two days before and was now experiencing swelling.
After consulting the flight surgeon at Air Station Cape Cod, the fisherman was medevaced to Massachusetts General Hospital.
