The Outer Banks Voice reports a Coast Guard helicopter was dispatched to the Queen Mary II cruise ship off Nags Head Monday, December 19th to medevac an ailing passenger at approximately 9:30am.

The 64-year-old woman with severe abdominal pain and the ship’s doctor were airlifted by a Jayhawk helicopter at about 4 p.m., the Coast Guard said in a statement. They were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. There is no word on the passenger’s condition.
